The Gallery at Hermes, a Madison Avenue art gallery in New York, will be hosting an exhibit celebrating the work of Japanese photographer Rinko Kawauchi.
Named “Illuminance”, after Kawauchi’s new book chronicling 15 years of photography, the exhibit explores part of her vision as an artist: capturing the “small voices in our world”.
The New York Times blog ran a great piece on Kawauchi and her new exhibit, shining some light on her particular artistic vision and how she goes about compiling her work, as well as information about the exhibit. The book, which will be her first released in the United States, will be available on June 30th.
Illuminance runs at the Hermes from May 20th through July 16.
