Comic-Con will invade the San Diego Convention Center on July 21-24, when fans of all kinds of different genres of entertainment will convene for a 4-day stretch to attend panels and attend screenings of films and television shows, among countless other activities.
This year’s convention will also be marked by the unveiling of the comic project created by Todd McFarlane, Stan Lee and X Japan star Yoshiki, as we posted about a few weeks back.
As is customary at Comic-Con, there will also be special movie screenings and premiere events. One notable screening will be of the live action motion picture Gantz and its sequel, Gantz II: Perfect Answer.

The Anime News Network posted the press release announcing the movie event, which details further information:
GANTZ screens on Friday, July 22nd at 6:00pm and 9:00pm, while GANTZ II: Perfect Answer screens on Saturday, July 23rd at 6:00pm and also at 9:00pm. Both films will be shown in Japanese with English subtitles. The film screenings will take place during the 2011 Comic-Con International, the country’s largest comic book, science fiction and pop culture event, which takes place at the nearby San Diego Convention Center. Tickets to the GANTZ screenings are now available for online purchase http://www.fandango.com/gaslampstadium_aaeet/theaterpage?date=7/22/2011. As we wrote about back in January, the film is an adaptation of the manga and anime series created by Hiroya Oku.
