Life-Size Hatsune Miku

If you don’t already know, the virtual diva, Hatsune Miku, is quite the sensation in Japan. I wouldn’t be surprised if there were a ranking of intense, die-hard fans, with Miku’s clan being number one. And to illustrate how deep their love is, one fan decided to create a life-size Miku out of A0 size paper (46.8 x 33.1 in).

The craftsman, who goes by the name of Kanju, gave up Christmas and New Year’s for his project, that stands 5’2″ tall and is not completely flat as “you can look up her skirt” (well then…). He used a technique called shadow boxing, in which you create a three-dimensional feel by combining numerous copies of the same image. He has also connected speakers and an MP3 player to its (her?) back, so that she can be the singing star that she is. It even splits into parts and has a carrying case so that it can be displayed anywhere with ease.
