Shounen MANGA “SAINT SEIYA” comes back to TV after 23 years

Saint Seiya (聖闘士星矢 in Kanji and pronounced Seinto Seiya) is a manga series by Masami Kurumada.  The manga was serialized in Weekly Shounen Jump from 1986 to 1991.  In 1986 Saint Seiya became an anime and was aired until 1989, which was cancelled and left unfinished.   The anime series was a hit not only on Japan but in Europe and Latin America.  Now, about 23 years after the last original air date, Saint Seiya will come back to TVs in Japan.  It was announced on February 6th that TV Asahi  will air the new series “Saint Seiya Omega” from 6:30am to 7am on Sundays starting April.
