As fall turns to winter (although you wouldn”t know it in Los Angeles), there are some great events coming up for fans of Japanese music and fashion. Tune in Tokyo has some exciting shows planned for the end of the year, and there”s a big concert coming up that I know everyone will be attending!
We want to thank everyone who joined us at Pacific Media Expo over the weekend. The Friday night dance was a lot of fun! We were thrilled to bring the Tune in Tokyo sound to the dance, and meet so many cool and interesting people! Our lead-in were our friends and colleagues Lemon Drop Kick and Dig Jelly, who delivered amazing performances as part of the PMX Concert. Lemon Drop Kick will be playing Anime LA in January, and Dig Jelly will be joining us for an awesome holiday event (details on that in a moment).
Tune in Tokyo returns to 2nd Street Jazz this Saturday, November 20th! We”ll be welcoming special guests Maganda, The Beatjackers, and Made By Dr. Light! There will also be a guest DJ set by DJ Tommy Pedrini! We want to thank everyone who has supported us over the last couple of years, as well as all the new friends we met at PMX, so we”re offering a special cover beste online casino of only $5 for Saturday”s event! Doors open at 8:30 PM. Ages 18 with ID.
For those who”ve been attending our events, you know that they”ve always been held on Thursday nights. It”s great that so many people have supported us, but I know we always paid for it the next morning at work, or at school. We”ve got great news! Beginning January 2011, Tune in Tokyo will always be held on the last Saturday of the month!
Expect the same great mix of Japanese, Korean, Thai, Chinese, and other global club beats, with even more Shibuya-Kei and Japanese Indie, plus live bands every month! And check out our new gorgeous flyer by animation artist and illustrator Lili Chin, co-creator of the Mucha Lucha TV series!
In December, we”ll actually be taking the month off at 2nd Street. However,we will be throwing a really cool party in conjuncture with Diamond Gyaru-Sa at Royal/T Maid Cafe on Tuesday, December 21st, featuring Dig Jelly! Mark your calendars, and stay tuned for more details!
And that big concert? Japanese rock legends Luna Sea come to the Palladium on Saturday, December 4th. We”ll be there! Looking forward to enjoying the big show will all our friends!
See you this Saturday in Little Tokyo
