UPDATE: Kishidan issue apology, trash Nazi-esque outfits

This is an update of our post two days ago.

After angering  an American Jewish rights organization with their Nazi-inspired costumes, J-Pop band Kishidan‘s management issued an official apology, saying:

We deeply regret and apologize for the distress it has caused (the) Simon Wiesenthal Center and all concerned,” Sony Music Artists Inc. said in a statement, adding the band “will never again use this costume and it will be disposed of immediately.”

All six male band members also “deeply regret and apologize in this matter,” the statement said, while noting “(wearing the garb) was not meant to carry any ideological meaning whatsoever.”

This comes mere days after the Simon Wiesenthal Center expressed outrage upon seeing the outfits and calling for their removal immediately.

What do you think, was this blown out of proportion or was Kishidan and their management/Sony Japan/MTV Japan in the wrong?
