Keiichi Tanaami is a graphic designer, illustrator and video artist whose work could usually be considered some form of psychedelic pop art. Tanaami was born in in Tokyo in 1936. He was heavily influenced by the psychedelic culture and pop art of the 1960’s and was greatly inspired by the work of Andy Warhol. He was a member of the Neo-Dada organization, one of the defining art movements of postwar Japan. Tanaami has designed album covers for bands like Jefferson Airplane, The Monkees and more recently, Super Furry Animals.
