Licca-chan x Pierre Hermé Paris

Licca-chan, the Japanese Barbie, and Pierre Hermé, famous French pâtissier, are collaborating to celebrate the doll’s 45th year anniversary! 45 years!? I should probably be referring to her as “Licca-san.”

The collaboration project started on Licca-chan’s birthday, 5/3, and will end on Macaron Day in Japan, 6/21. Macaron Day is a charity event that was started by Pierre Hermé 7 years ago at his boutiques in Paris to raise funds for children with intractable diseases. The purpose of the collaboration with Licca-chan is to raise awareness about Macaron Day.

The project’s first event was Licca-chan’s Birthday Party held at Pierre Hermé in Aoyama on 5/3. Young Licca-chan fans were chosen by lottery to attend with their favorite Licca-chan doll. At the boutique, they were able to enjoy a birthday cake personally made by Pierre Hermé.

From 5/3-5/13, several different generations of the Licca doll and house were displayed at the Aoyama boutique.

From 6/1-6/21, a limited edition macaron, Macaron Licca, will be sold at the boutique, from which all proceeds will go to Japan’s NPO for children with intractable diseases.

If you’re in Tokyo, be sure to get your free macaron on 6/21 and donate!
