Last Minute Holiday To-Do List!
I was once a student so I understand what some of you are going through right now. Your 3 weeks of Winter Break is almost over yet you felt like you did not make the most out of your break. This is usually due to the fact that you have no idea what you want to do so here are a few suggestions!
1. Watch ‘A Dog of Flanders’ Movie 1997 (Anime)
I highly recommend checking out this movie! It’s about a boy named Nello and his dog Patrasche who goes through hardships because of their lower class life. This tragic story has been adapted several times and it has been made into an anime twice! Unfortunately, it’s hard to find the Anime anywhere now but the movie is laying around “somewhere.” You’re probably asking me why you would want watch a sad movie. To be honest, I have no idea. It is, however, a very popular story in Japan and has been referenced many times in their pop culture. So you should atleast watch it once.
2. Watch ‘My Neighbor Totoro’ for the millionth time AND make this Totoro plush while you are it!
Here at KKS, we are a BIG FAN of Do-It-Yourself stuff! They are the best productive time killer, saves you a ton of money, and gives you a sense of accomplishment! Over at Cheek and Stitch, they provided a VERY EASY tutorial for you to follow so that you will have your VERY OWN TOTORO PLUSH!! And plus it wouldn’t hurt to watch the movie to keep you motivated while making it! 🙂 Click here for DIY Totoro Tutorial!
3. Make Rilakkuma/Korilakkuma Curry Hotsprings!
Shameless self-advertisement! But you have to admit, a nice bowl of curry sounds nice during the chilly days! Why not make it fun by making this cute plate? 🙂 Click here for the video tutorial!
4. Download the Manga Camera App on your iDevice!
Turn your life into a manga by taking pictures and adding the effects! I can see so many creative things you can do with this app. For example, something as simple as taking a picture of an object and impressing your friends for 5 seconds or create a short stories and impress your friends for 10 minutes! The choice is yours!
5. Go to Anime Los Angeles if you live near LA! January 4th – 6th, 2013!
I think you guys will be back in school by then but no worries. The 1st week is usually pretty laid back. If you’re up for it, why not attend a small Anime convention? Meet some fellow otakus! This would require some money spending though. :/ We are usually at these things to admire the awesome cosplays! 🙂
Hopefully you guys will end up doing atleast one thing from this list. If I had to choose, it would be making that super cute Totoro plush! Let us know what you end up doing in the comments below! 🙂 Happy Holidays everyone!
