Ikemen Ramen to Re-import
I have been to Ikemen Ramen located in Hollywood. The naming is so funny, ikemen means good looking/hot/cool men but as a ramen shop their intentions were having the message of their raMEN to be cool since none of the guys at the shop were good looking. haha They opened it’s doors in 2011. Now, Ikemen will re-importing itself to Japan! They will be part of Shin-Yokohama Raumen Museum from April 24th.
Ikemen is known for their ‘tsukemen’ or dipping ramen. Tsukemen is a type of ramen which the noodles and soup are served separately. You dip the noodles in the soup. Some places serve their soup chilled.
The picture below are Ikemen’s tsukemen
Zebra Dip $9.00
They also have regular ramen, Chiken Ramen $8.00
I had fires and Zebra Dip when I went their. In my opinion, I thought the quality of the tsukemen was waaay below average. It was too oily and had no depth to the broth. They seemed to be doing good since most of their customers are locals and open till late for drunk people to come in for oily food. I think people who has had good tsukemen will be unsatisfied. But for those interested in trying IKEMEN you should!
