In the States, we have Honey Boo Boo. In Japan, they have Ryuchalo, the 5 year old “host.”

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the Japanese host culture, a host club is a place where a bunch of guys, who (are supposedly) good looking and dressed up like the kid above, work by keeping (mostly) women company. They drink with their customers while listening to them vent. Just from that short description you can already tell that a “host” is probably not something you want your child to be associated with, but his mother obviously thinks otherwise. Ryuchalo has 15,000+ likes on his Facebook page, and models for men’s fashion magazines, which seems like too much fame for a 5 year old to handle, but not for this kid. He wants more fame as his dream is to be a Johnnys.

In the hundreds of pictures posted on his Facebook page, Ryuchalo seems to enjoy his lifestyle, but what kid doesn’t like encouragement from his or her parents? I think childhood is the only time people get to be carefree individuals and not worry about aesthetics. I just hope his mom let’s him stop when/if he wants to…
