Los Angeles/Tokyo Rising Japanese rock band ARKTA will release their highly anticipated second EP As Oneself on September 17, 2025, available worldwide across all major streaming platforms including Spotify and Apple Music. Alongside the release, the band has unveiled their new headshot and confirmed an extensive Japan Tour 2025 this fall.
As Oneself confronts the raw struggles of adversity, loss, and inner conflict, transforming vulnerability into strength. Across five tracks, ARKTA carve out a story of defiance, catharsis, and rebirth, moving from visceral rebellion to hard-won self-affirmation. Each track builds toward the EP’s central message: “to live as oneself.”

ARKTA is a rock band formed by Tak, who is also known for his role as a ring announcer for NJPW STRONG (New Japan Pro Wrestling’s U.S. Competition), and kenken, former member of DELHEZI and former support guitarist for Japanese nu-metal band Another Story. Their 2024 tours across Japan, including a landmark Shibuya live house debut, cemented their reputation as a live act defined by connection and energy.
This September, ARKTA will return to Japan for JAPAN TOUR 2025, performing at major festivals including Tokyo Calling 2025, In The Family Fest, and Super Rock City Hiroshima DX, while sharing stages in Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka with a host of bands including Ice Cream Never Ground.

ARKTA
ARKTA is an international hybrid rock duo formed by Tak (vocals) from Los Angeles and kenken (vocals/producer) from Tokyo. Drawing on nu-metal and emo influences, their sound blends powerful melodies with raw emotional storytelling. Tak is also known as the ring announcer for New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW STRONG) and the screamer for North American band Quietude, while kenken is a former member of metalcore band DELHEZI and has performed with Japan’s loud rock outfit Another Story. Their distinctive musical style led to their involvement in the 2021 worldwide release of the Nitro CHiRAL visual novel Slow Damage, for which they contributed the tracks “Keep Me Alive” and “Damaging You.”
ARKTA’s live presence has been key to their growing reputation. Their debut at CHiRAL LIVE 2022 × Slow Damage in Tokyo was a sold-out success, followed by a standout performance at Rising Japan Fest 2023 in Los Angeles, where they shared the stage with Def Tech. In 2024, they released their first EP From Where The City Lights Burn, a self-produced project that demonstrated their DIY ethos and sonic evolution, led by the single “The Lily.” The EP was entirely created by the band, showcasing their artistic independence and strong creative chemistry.
Following a successful Japan tour in July and November 2024, ARKTA is now set to release their next single, “DIVE,” on April 23, 2025. Written with live audiences in mind, the track represents a bold step forward in their musical journey—expanding their sound while maintaining the intensity that defines them. With a growing global fanbase and a fearless approach to their craft, ARKTA is rapidly emerging as one of the most exciting rock acts to watch.
