Back in last December, frenetic Japanese teen metalheads BABYMETAL announced U.S. Tour 2016 Dates in support of their highly-anticipated second studio album Metal Resistance. In January, the band added four more dates for the upcoming tour.
In addition to the already announced shows, the trio will make stops at Boston’s House of Blues, the Showbox SoDo in Seattle, the Regency Ballroom in San Francisco, and the Wiltern Theater out in L.A.
Conceived in 2010 as a merger between Japanese idol bands and hard metal, the three teenagers of BABYMETAL and their wildly disorienting fusion of metal and J-pop have taken their homeland and the U.S. by storm. 2015 marked a significant year for the band as they re-released their 2014 self-titled debut album and also made their presence felt at festivals like Rock on the Range and at sold out shows at Hammerstein Ballroom in New York and the House of Blues in Chicago. They even won a few awards, taking home the Breakthrough Act award at the 2015 Metal Hammer Golden Gods. With Metal Resistance set for an April 1 release, 2016 may be even bigger.
