The short PV for Crystal Kay‘s new song “Kimi ga Ita Kara” has been uploaded onto UNIVERSAL MUSIC JAPAN‘s official YouTube channel.

“Kimi ga Ita Kara” is the title track to Crystal’s new single that’s scheduled to be released on June 3. It has the theme “a love song about your feelings for an important person that you’d risk your life protecting.” Based on this theme, the PV’s story revolves around childhood friends who fall in love after coincidentally reuniting when they grow older. It was directed by Kubo Shigeaki, who is known for working on Sandaime J Soul Brothers‘ PVs.

The PV stars EXILE‘s Sato Taiki and actress Otani Eiko. On the day of the PV shoot, Crystal visited the set to encourage the cast. Regarding the shoot, Sato commented, “It’s a dream to be able to star in one of Crystal Kay’s works by myself [without the other members]. I listened to the song many times for today’s shoot. The content of the MV matches the worldview of the lyrics, so please look forward to its completion. My first love was also a preschool teacher, so this setting is surprisingly real.

When UNIVERSAL MUSIC JAPAN’s tweet regarding the PV announcement is retweeted over 3,000 times, they will reveal the 2-minute version of the video. You can check out UNIVERSAL MUSIC JAPAN’s tweet here.
