Reunited in the present world, the former Demon King and former Hero find themselves entangled in a fast-paced romantic comedy filled with chaos and chemistry.
The newly announced main cast features Jun Fukuyama as Ryusei Narukami and Akira Sekine as Meteor Hanaori. Fukuyama commented, “I can’t wait for everyone to see the noisy yet adorable back-and-forth between these two,” while Sekine shared that she recorded her audition “with a big smile on her face,” expressing her affection for the project.

COMMENT
Jun Fukuyama (Ryusei Narukami)
Hello! I’m Jun Fukuyama, voicing Ryusei Narukami.
A Demon King who was defeated by a Hero gets reincarnated, becomes a shut-in, and then reunites with that very Hero in the present world, leading to all kinds of chaotic, over-the-top situations.
The lively yet lovable banter between these two is something I truly want everyone to experience as soon as possible. We’re having an absolute blast in the studio, laughing constantly while giving it our all.
A former Hero, Meteor Hanaori, and a former Demon King, Ryusei Narukami, in a reincarnation rom-com full of mayhem, please look forward to Hanaori-san Still Wants to Fight in the Next Life.
Akira Sekine (Meteor Hanaori)
I’m Akira Sekine, and I’m honored to be voicing Meteor Hanaori.
When I learned this was a work by Hekiru Hikawa of Pani Poni, I was thrilled, and I remember recording my audition with a big smile the entire time.
I’ll do my very best to convey the straightforward charm of this wealthy, beautiful, and incredibly popular former Hero.
Thank you so much for your support.
Director: Hideyo Yamamoto
“Is this a romantic comedy? What exactly is it?”
That was honestly my first reaction when I read the original manga.
This work possesses a power that simply can’t be contained within a single genre. Our entire staff is working tirelessly to deliver that power as it is, or hopefully, even more so, through the anime.
You might feel a bit confused at first, just like I did.
But once you watch it, I’m certain you’ll be completely drawn into the world of Meteor and Ryusei.
Please look forward to the anime Hanaori-san Still Wants to Fight in the Next Life!
