Hiroyasu Ishida to be part of joint release of Indie Anime Film
Hiroyasu Ishida will release an indie anime short, Hinata no Aoshigure, along with Takahashi Nakamura (who directed Fantastic Children and A Tree of Palme) will contribute Shashinkan to this joint project.
For those unfamiliar with Ishida, he was the one responsible for the famous short Fumiko’s Confession. Since the release of this short, he has also directed another short by the name of rain town which is a beautiful silent short about a town where it never stops raining. His distinctive soft art style is very prominent in these two short films however, in his new anime short, Hinata no Aoshigure, he maintains his soft-style but has a Ghibli-esque feel throughout the entire trailer.
While on the opposite end of the spectrum, Nakamura has a very bold and accented art style. His new short film, Shashinkan, has an even more noticeable accented style and wildly different from his previous films. It’ll prove to be an interesting contrast to the film it will be shown alongside.
The joint film project will be prepared by Studio Colorido and is set for an October 3rd screening. Here is the trailer in question:
