Japan Nite, an annual showcase of Japanese bands at SXSW in Austin, has been dedicated to introducing outstanding Japanese bands to the world since 1990s. Over the years, more than 100 bands appeared on the stage of Japan Nite and conveyed their music to the world. Japan Nite has become one of the biggest platforms to export Japan-made music to the international market and hopes to continue supporting more talented bands when it celebrates the 20th anniversary this year!

Following the showcase at SXSW, the Japan Nite lineup are scheduled to visit as many as 8 cities in both east coast and west coast of the States, and Los Angeles will be one of the lucky cities that Japan Nite stops by. The LA show will take place at Bootleg HiFi on March 28th with the amazing lineup of TsuShiMaMiRE, QUORUM, and The fin.. We are very excited to announce that a pair of tickets of the LA show will be given away to one lucky winner!

Here is a brief introduction of Japan Nite Los Angeles show lineup. Make sure to check out the music video of each band because all of them are nothing but REALLY COOL!

TsuShiMaMiRE mixes elements of punk, funk, hip hop, pop and even children’s songs to create their own unique and eclectic sound.  This alternative girls rock trio formed in 1998 has never seen a single lineup change and it shows with a groove that’s tight as a drum. Full of charisma and quirk, this is a band you surely don’t want to miss.

QUORUM comes at you with vintage rock sound straight out of the 70’s.  Despite their young age (the group states an average age of 22), these guys list such old school rock greats as Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin as their greatest influences and it shows with their bluesy guitar riffs and melodic vocals.  Classic rock with a modern edge, this is a group that is sure to steal the show.

If you’re looking for something a little more low-key,The fin. is for you. Formed in 2012, their first self-released EP, Glowing Red on the Shore, did so well that Hip Land Music gave it a full re-release in March of last year. The fin. makes an ethereal dance-pop sound, citing chill wave acts Toro Y Moi and Washed Out as influences. One of the most promising indie pop rock bands in Japan, The fin. has been invited to perform at major Japanese festivals like FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL, RISING SUN ROCK FESTIVAL, and VIVA LA ROCK. The fin. just released their first album, Day’s With Uncertainty, in December 2014,  and its chillwave sound is sure to please your ears.
