If you don’t have any plans this Valentine’s Day, how about you bake a delicious roll cake while listening to some Japanese music fit for Valentine’s Day? I’ll do the difficult part for you so all you have to do is press play and bake :p
Valentine Day Kiss – Sayuri Kokusho
While this song was released back in the 80s, it still gets played often in Japan. I’m sure some of you have heard the song or one of the covers before. Catchy, isn’t it?
Happy Valentine Day – Kohmi Hirose
Caution: This song may make you get up and do your happy dance.
Secret Valentine – KnuthP (feat. Hatsune Miku)
I figured this list could use some vocaloid.
Hot Chocolate – RIP SLYME
Here’s some Japanese hip-hop for a change!
Chocolate Disco – Perfume
This song will most likely get stuck in your head for the rest of the day. For those of you who had heard the song before, reading the title alone probably set off the jukebox in your head!
The next two are mellow and may be sad so brace yourselves if you don’t have a date.
Be My Valentine – LINDBERG
Chocolate – Leo Ieiri
Chocolate Tamashii – Aya Matsuura
Back to some upbeat music by Ayaya!
Valentine – WHITE JAM
This one was released a couple weeks ago and reached #30 on Oricon Chart. Do you agree with the ranking?
Die! Valentine’s Day – Fujioka Fujimaki
I know the title is a bit scary, but this is a song by novelty band Fujioka Fujimaki who are known for performing Gake no Ue no Ponyo. What a twist, eh? The song is filled with black humor – “did you want chocolate that much? Does it make you that happy? Do you want to brag about chocolate that much?” The illustrations in the video were created by a vocaliod fan who thought it might be funny to turn KAITO into a scary pessimist. I hope it got some laughs out of you!
