It’s another hot day in los angeles and totally miss { one thing } about japan. It’s KAKIGOORI!

Summertime in Japan, kakigori is a common treat. Simple cups of ice and syrup from festival stands or elaborate dessert creations on restaurant menus. At a stand like the one above, you are able to add your own toppings to the ice. While you might like yours with matcha syrup and azuki beans, I’m rather partial to ichigo (strawberry) with condensed milk! Yum!

and guess what? i have a hello kitty KAKIGOORI maker from japan! yes. it’s a 15 years old and still making delicious icy treat fro me. isn’t it amazing?

if you ever go to japan, you have to find this sign saying “ICE”  it will sure be such a sweet icy refreshment for hot summer days!
