“KYOTOGRAPHIE Kyoto International Photography Festival 2016” will be held from April 23 until May 22, 2016.
KYOTOGRAPHIE is one of the few international photography festivals in Japan. The festival features precious photographies and photo collections, and presents such works in both modern and traditional settings of Kyoto.
2016 will be the fourth year of KYOTOGRAPHIE, and the theme of this year is “Circle of Life”. French photographer Sarah Moon will present a new work. Her images consist of botanical specimens and stuffed animals printed with faded textures. Christian Sardet, who takes photographs of planktons under the microscope, will exhibit an installation featuring Sakamoto Ryuichi’s sounds. Visitors can enjoy unique perspectives of each photographer.
Visitors will also be able to attend weekend guided tours and talk events. Both amateur and professional photographers can enjoy master classes provided by members of the International Portfolio Review and New York’s International Center of Photography.
