“We are Dancers, DJ’s, Musicians, Producers, MC’s, Singers, Visual Artists, Fashion Gurus, Organizers, Educators, as well as Fans and Supporters of art & culture.”
– Founder Randall “Shux Wun” Murchison, about Music&Strength
Back in 1997, Randall “SHUX WUN” Murchison created “Music&Strength” as a radio show based out of Hollywood, California on KCLA, dedicated to exposing independent music. The whole concept grew to video production, meant to show and educate the world about hip hop culture, dance, and art. The Music&Strength Crew are artists of all walks of life spread out across the world, working together on videos, music, art, educational workshops, and many other projects.
Shux Wun was born in California, and has traveled the world. When he was 11 years old, he lived on a military base in Okinawa, where he got his first taste of Japanese culture. He’s worked with a variety of companies, businesses, labels, and musical icons such as Erykah Badu, Black Eyed Peas, George Clinton, Wu-Tang Clan, Snoop Dogg, and many more. He started documenting the urban culture in Japan, and Japanese artists such as Nitro Microphone Underground, Coma-Chi, Shingo Nishinari, GEBO, Rhymestar, and many more since 2003. In 2006, he took his work online, and in 2007 he began a live video stream on Music&Strength TV. He also has a series of videos on YouTube called “SHUXfiles“.
This is definitely something to check out if you’re interested in hip hop, culture, and art.
