This morning, Japanese video game giant Nintendo lifted the curtain on its newest console: the WiiU.
The console, an updated version of its current Wii system, features high definition graphics and a newly designed controller with a 6.2 inch touchscreen, which is quite a change from the normal Wii remotes that we have been using for the last few years.
As Reuters mentions, this announcement by Nintendo puts pressure on the company’s rivals, such as Microsoft and Sony, who probably want to develop a new system of their own now, if they haven’t already been doing so.
The WiiU console is supposed to launch between April and December 2012, but Nintendo didn’t say anything about its cost just yet.
