There’s no denying the impact Apple C.E.O. Steve Jobs had on our lives, both at work and in our personal lives. He passed away yesterday at the age of 56 after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

His accomplishments and innovations that he enacted through Apple, Inc. have revolutionized the way we live. Chances are, you are either reading this post from a device his company made or own one.

ABC News recapped some of the international reaction to Jobs’s passing, noting that in Japan his absence has already been felt: At the Ginza shopping district in Tokyo, employees of Apple’s store reportedly held a silent moment of prayer before opening to customers. A candlelight vigil planned outside the store at 5 p.m. Thursday.

Now more than ever, we are completely in tune with technology; many of us make our living off products conceived by Jobs and/or his company. For that, we all universally grateful.

R.I.P. Steve Jobs, and our deep condolences to his family members.
