The 10th annual Crunchyroll Anime Awards ceremony was held on May 23, 2026, at the Grand Prince Hotel New Takanawa in Tokyo, Japan.

What are the Crunchyroll Anime Awards?
From its inception in 2017, this annual event has recognized and celebrated anime’s finest series, films, and the talented people who make them. It is a premier annual award program dedicated to honoring the exceptional creators, musicians, and cast members who ignite the passion of anime fans worldwide. Fans from around the world, along with a global panel of judges, cast their votes in a variety of categories, and the results are revealed at a live awards ceremony.

At this milestone 10th edition, the smash-hit anime Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- Season 3 was proudly awarded Best Isekai Anime.

Following the ceremony, Director Masahiro Shinohara attended a press interview, where he reflected on the achievement, shared exclusive behind-the-scenes production stories, and expressed his gratitude to international fans.

On Winning the Award:
“Winning this award for the second consecutive year is a truly profound honor. This achievement is the direct result of our staff and voice actors working together as a united team. I am incredibly grateful and happy.”

Behind-the-Scenes Production Episode:
When asked about behind-the-scenes stories during production, Director Shinohara revealed a hidden episode regarding the season finale.
“For the very end of the final episode of Season 3, my original plan was to play the music and roll the episode subtitle simultaneously. However, our sound director initially opposed this idea. Despite the disagreement, I decided to push through with my original vision. In the end, it created a conclusion for Season 3 that resonated deeply with the viewers, and I believe fans were truly satisfied. I’m glad I stayed true to my creative instincts.”

Message to Global Fans:
Director Shinohara concluded the interview with a heartfelt message to the international community:
“We can truly feel your incredible passion and energy reaching us from across the ocean. I truly believe this series progresses hand-in-hand with all of our fans, so let us continue to walk this journey together.”

The Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- anime marks its own monumental 10th anniversary this year since its Season 1 broadcast began in 2016. The momentum shows no signs of slowing down, as the highly anticipated Season 4 is currently streaming, continuing to captivate audiences worldwide.
