Several museums in Japan are having an exhibit that will feature various Western Artists’ works that were influenced by Japanese art and the East. One of the more famous works of art is Claude Monet’s La Japonais, which is a large-scale painting of Monet’s wife, Camille, in a vibrant kimono surrounded by fans. San-X decided to kawaii-fy the painting by replacing Camille with Rilakkuma.
These items will be sold at the museums holding the exhibit. Customers who spend more than 2,000 yen ($19.66) at any Rilakkuma Store will receive a Rilakkuma sticker of the La Japonaise design.
