It has been announced that Takarazuka Revue will be performing a musical version of Watsuki Nobuhiro’s “Rurou ni Kenshin -Meiji Swordsman Romantic Story-.”

“Rurou ni Kenshin” is a manga series on the weekly magazine Shonen Jump from 1994. It has become an anime and also a live-adaptation movie (starring Sato Takeru), but this is the first time it will become a musical.

The Takarazuka Revue is a world-renowned all-female musical theater troupe based in the city of Takarazuka in Hyogo. Formed in 1913, the troupe continues to fascinate audiences of all ages.

Takarazuka has five smaller troupes: flower, moon, snow, star, and cosmos. The Snow Troupe will be performing this “Rurou ni Kenshin” musical.

The lead performers of this musical will be Sagiri Seina and Sakihi Miyu. The stage will be directed by Koike Shuichiro. The Snow Troupe performed a musical version of Monkey Punch’s “Lupin III” this previous February. Fans are excited to see what the troupe has in stock.
