Fujitsu, a company usually known for computer products, recently showed off its new project, a motion-sensoring robo-bear.

But this bear wasn’t really meant to crowd on your child’s nighstand with his or her other stuffed animals. Instead, Fujitsu intends to market the bear as a companion to elderly people. The bear has built-in software that detects emotion, noises, and your general mood and the bear reacts appropriately. It’s even supposed to be able to alert others if you fall or get injured (demonstrating its ability to help older people).

Check out a cool demonstration of the bear after the jump.
