Influential, long-running Japanese rock band Shonen Knife will be celebrating their 30th year of existence with a festive covers album.

On July 19, the band will release Osaka Ramones, the band’s faithful tribute to one of their biggest musical influences, NYC punk legends the Ramones. The album will be released on Good Charamel Records. Visit the label’s website to view the track listing and hear clips from the album.

According to Zoinks Online, the band will embark on a tour of the United States to celebrate the release of Osaka Ramones. Information on the tour hasn’t been released yet, but it’s sure to be a good treat for American Shonen Knife fans.

Zoinks also includes this quote from Shonen Knife founder Naoko Yamano:

“Ramones were my all-time idols since I first heard their music from a radio and rushed to a record shop. This year is the 30th anniversary of Shonen Knife. For celebration, we decided to record a cover album of our favorite band the Ramones. The title is “Osaka Ramones” with our respect. I’m very happy to release an Osaka Ramones project and to recognize their contribution to the evolution of Shonen Knife.”
