In Utsunomiya city where known as the “Gyoza town”, a new streetlights in the form of Gyoza have been installed.

Utsunomiya Gyoza-kai that is the  association of specialty Gyoza shops and  City of Utsunomiya installed new Gyoza shaped streetlight for a symbol of Gyoza Street in Utsunomiya, where the Gyoza stores are lined up.The existing streetlights have been removed from the length of 160 meters of the street and a total of seven gyoza-shaped streetlights have been installed.
The new streetlight has a dark brown color on one side, resembling the gyoza burnt, and the other side is a realistic representation of the gyoza skin folds.

Gyoza Street has gyoza designs on the signboards of street poles and manhole covers, and the new streetlight looks like a gyoza floating in the air illuminating the street.

Atsuhiro Suzuki, Executive Director of Utsunomiya Gyoza-kai, said, “I think it’s a wonderful streetlight that will inspire the appetite of people. I would like people to see the streetlights and take pictures of  them and have fun.”
