The end of 2015 is approaching fast. Karaoke is a popular past time for this time of year, so if you want to stay cosy in a karaoke booth and sing your heart out, here is a line up of the top ten anime songs to sing on the karaoke box!

10. Sugar Song and Bitter Step -UNISON SQUARE GARDEN from Kekkai Sensen

This ending song of Kekkai Sensen (Blood Blockade Battlefront) was released in May and both the anime and the song became hits following high expectations. One of the first scenes is a girl getting out of bed – albeit late – I’d jump out of bed to this song!

Romaji lyrics can be found here.

The video does not show the full song, but if you don’t mind edited versions they can also be found on Youtube.

9. Lion – May’n Megumi Nakajima from Macross Frontier

Quite a classic and perfect for a duet, so grab a partner and belt your heart out!

Lyrics found here.

8. Maji Love 1000% – Starish from Uta no Prince Sama

Are you ready?  This was one of my favourite songs in the series. It’s even got a cosplay performance video, a dance tutorial, a Kuroko no Basket spinoff and a Vocaloid cover which is, arguably, quite good.

Although the video is low quality, it’s the best original I could find.

Want lyrics? Here they are.

7. Connect – ClariS from Mahou Shoujo (alt. Puella Magi) Madoka Magica

The beginning of this song evokes painful memories of heartbreaking moments in the anime. The tempo changes but the lyrics carry those feelings on! Ready those dance moves to accompany this awesome song.

Sing along here.

6. Genesis of Aquarion – AKINO from Sousei no Aquarion

Let’s slow it down a little bit while we enjoy this song sending warm fuzzy feelings into our hearts. I’m not even sure which version I like better, the Japanese version or the English A cappella version. Maybe those who are confident about singing in front of their friends will sing the A cappella.

When you decide, the lyrics are here.

5.  Kimi no Shiranai Monogatari – Supercell from Bakemonogatari

You know that feeling you get when you hear a song that sends shivers down your spine and gives you goosebumps? I get that feeling with Supercell.  The anime was just as entertaining as the song. Another Supercell favourite is My Dearest, the opening theme for Guilty Crown. Wow. Just wow.

Don’t forget the lyrics! They’re here.

4. Uso – SID from Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood

This one was hard to pick, but a great anime deserves a great song. Close your eyes with this and you can visualise Al running behind Ed, who’s screaming a twisted version of, “who are you calling short?!”

Well, scream the lyrics, found here.

3. God Knows – Aya Hirano  from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya

The vocals, the guitar and drums, they scream perfection. Nothing less from Aya Hirano. Even if you don’t dance, you can’t help but bop your head and appreciate the sounds you hear from this hit. And when you’re handed the microphone you shout, as though you have the best voice in the room, God Knows!

But there’s more to the lyrics, here.

Eternal Blaze – Nana Mizuki from Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha

2. Only My Railgun – Fripside from Toaru Kagaku no Railgun

You might get a bit tongue tied with this one, but just sing like you’re hitting every note, or word, right. It’s great if you want to get everyone started. This song is full of energy and you might be heaving for breath afterwards, but it will be worth it.

Try to keep up with the lyrics, here.

1. Zankoku na Tenshi no Thesis – Yoko Takahashi from Neon Genesis Evangelion

A classic among classics. It’s just one of those songs that complete every karaoke session, though, according to Nico Nico news, some think the song should be shelved.

The lyrics are here anyway.

Other great alternatives include:

Ignite – Aoi Eir from Sword Art Online II

My Soul, Your Beats – LiA from Angel Beats

Eternal Blaze – Nana Mizuki from Mahou Shojo Lyrical Nanoha

So there you have it, take this list and screech in the place you can’t be judged. Whats your favourite anime song to sing for karaoke?
