Pusuke, the world’s oldest dog, died this Monday in Sakura, Japan at the age of 26. Born in March 1985, Pusuke was recognized last year as the world’s oldest living dog by Guinness Book Of World Records.

Owner, Yumiko Shinohara, said Pusuke had been showing a good appetite and had kept up with his two strolls a day. However, on Monday morning, he was refusing to eat and had problems breathing. Pusuke died five minutes after Ms Shinohara had returned home from a walk.

At 26 years old, only months before his 27th birthday, Pusuke was over 125 years old in dog years!
