Kazuki Takahashi, the manga author of the popular shonen manga Yu-Gi-Oh! was found dead at sea in Okinawa Prefecture. He was 60 years old.

Around 10:30 am on July 6th, a passerby spotted Mr. Takahashi’s body about 300 meters offshore in Nago City, Okinawa and reported to the Japanese Coast Guard. Firefighters rushed to the scene to rescue him, but he was later confirmed dead. Mr. Takahashi was wearing snorkeling gear, and it seems he was visiting Okinawa by himself.

According to the Japan Coast Guard, Mr. Takahashi’s stomach and lower half of his body were heavily damaged and it may have been caused by a shark attack.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of Mr. Takahashi’s death.
