Winter is almost here! brrrrrr got my coats and boots out but ya does not get too brutally cold here in LA.  You know that Japan has lots of soft drink vending machines right? And they get ready to warm people up by stocking winter oriented drinks.  This is my favorite drink that appears in vending machines in winter! Corn Soup!!!

yummy- its creamy and rich with real sweet corn seeds.  It’s not a drink, it’s soup. Ya Japanese people enjoy soup bought from vending machines while outside in the cold.

Here are some other people’s favorite soup cans from vending machines-

Oshiruko (Red bean soup)

There is also miso soup

In Akihabara, there is this vending machine that is famous for selling crazy gourmet can- Oden!

Oden is a winter dish stewed in a light, soy-flavoured dashi broth with ingredients such as boiled eggs, daikon radish, konnyaku, and fish cake.  This is what the inside looks like

Has lots of ingredients! looks filling! This is a Kitty-chan oden can- I think it was a limited edition one.Japan is really cold during the winter, but these cans will keep you warm when you are out on the streets!

  1. I would so eat that red bean soup. Looks delicious! But somehow eating anything from a vending machine with fish in it seems like a really bad idea
