TOHO Co., Ltd. has debuted a new English-dub trailer for Though I Am an Inept Villainess, giving fans their first look at the series’ English voice cast in action. Following the recent launch of the original Japanese-language version, the English dub will arrive July 26 on Crunchyroll, Hulu, and Netflix (Asia).
The anime is an adaptation of Satsuki Nakamura’s critically acclaimed light novel and manga series set in a vivid imperial court centered on Kou Reirin, an adored noblewoman who finds herself magically swapped into the body of the condemned villainess Shu Keigetsu. The newly released trailer offers fans their first look at the series’ English-dubbed version, giving audiences a new way to experience Reirin’s journey.
The newly announced English-dub cast includes:
- Brianna Knickerbocker (Re − Starting Life in Another World, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Genshin Impact) as Kou Reirin
- Rebecca Wang (Solo Leveling, Street Fighter 6, Fate/strange Fake) as Shu Keigetsu
- Kaiji Tang (Jujutsu Kaisen, Bungo Stray Dogs, Like a Dragon) as Ei Gyoumei
- Aleks Le (Solo Leveling, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Dandadan) as Shin-u
- Lizzie Freeman (The Amazing Digital Circus, Lycoris Recoil, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind) as Leelee
- Mori Calliope (hololive English -Myth- VTuber and acclaimed singer-songwriter) as Kou Tousetsu

Though I Am an Inept Villainess is directed by Mitsue Yamasaki, with series composition by Yoshiko Nakamura, character design by Ai Kikuchi, music by Yukari Hashimoto, and animation production by Doga Kobo. The series’ opening theme, “Sunny,” is performed by acclaimed singer-songwriter milet, and the ending theme, “Shooting Star,” is performed by Rokudenashi.
The English dub will be available on Crunchyroll, Hulu, Disney+, and Netflix (Asia) to watch at 8:45 a.m. PT / 24:45 JST.
Though I Am an Inept Villainess
As maidens from the Five Clans battle for the Crown Prince’s heart, jealous Keigetsu uses forbidden magic to swap bodies with the beloved Reirin. Switching places does not guarantee happiness for Keigetsu with her new body’s ill health leaving her hanging on the verge of death. Meanwhile, Reirin, now wearing the face of a scorned outcast, must answer for Keigetsu’s crimes in a dangerous trial.
