Stream Brighter:

After “Hoshizukiyo” surpassed a total of 4 billion streams worldwide, YU-KA dropped her long-awaited first album, wishing to connect with people through music. On this album YU-KA remarks “I really want my listeners to know that you can be anywhere, be whoever, but you can connect through music, and I think that’s what ‘s beautiful of music”.

Featuring previously released tracks, “Lullaby” and “No Stars” produced by Toru, the Guitarist of ONE OK ROCK, Brighter captures her footsteps and change as a musician in just under two years. Spent her childhood in the U.S. and Switzerland, her musical style drifts between Western and Japanese music with a global sensibility and all her experiences since the major debut, including her first performance in front of international audience at SXSW 2023, made her be open more to new music styles. In token of that, in her latest song “Rouge”, she combines her jazzy vocal delivery with a retro R&B track where she embraces new musical challenge. “Rouge” is the theme song for the popular Japanese anime series Metalic Rouge currently available on Crunchyroll in the U.S.

Prior to this album YU-KA released a collaboration single with a Swedish duo NOTD, “AM:PM featuring YU-KA” where she contributed Japanese lyrics and sings in both languages. YU-KA notes “I had a songwriting trip in Sweden, and was lucky enough to meet the NOTD in person then. We recorded the Japanese version together, and that was a memorable experience for me.”

As she pushes the boundaries surrounding her artistry, YU-KA continues to create music that gently accompanies listeners, and she continues to change as she delivers her music.
