PassCode is a four-member vocal and dance group that has performed at major festivals such as SUMMER SONIC and MEGA VEGAS. In September last year, they completed their first US tour, performing in Dallas, Los Angeles, and New York. Riding the wave of these successes, they have announced that “WILLSHINE,” their first new song in approximately one year, will be released on music streaming sites on July 9, followed by a CD single release on September 11.

“WILLSHINE” has been chosen as the opening theme song for the second season of the TV anime Shy. The original manga is currently serialized in Weekly Shonen Champion and has exceeded a cumulative circulation of 1.4 million copies! This marks PassCode’s first anime tie-up since “Ray” approximately six years ago.

The Limited First Edition of the new single will include a Blu-ray/DVD featuring the complete recording (8 songs in total) of the passionate live performance at Zephyren 10th Anniversary A.V.E.S.T project Kodou at National Yoyogi Stadium First Gymnasium in February this year. Be sure to check it out as well.

Furthermore, they have announced their transfer to the newly established label MoooD Records within Bandai Namco Music Live starting from this release. “WILLSHINE” will be their first single under the new label. Nao Minami, one of the members, commented: “After performing at Nippon Budokan, we decided to transfer to Bandai Namco Music Live to pursue our next goal. We aim to continue challenging ourselves without fear of change and strive to be a group cherished for years to come.” They vowed to make further progress in their new environment.

Furthermore, they have announced a live tour this August. The tour title is “PassCode Undo→Step TOUR 2024.” Please keep an eye on their activities this year!

PassCode consists of four members: Nao Minami, Kaede Takashima, Hinako Ogami, and Emily Arima. They have a versatile repertoire based on a band sound, punctuated by their distinctive shouts and screams, and have performed at numerous major festivals such as SUMMER SONIC and ROCK IN JAPAN FESTIVAL, earning broad support from both rock enthusiasts and idol fans.
After making their major debut in 2016, they released their first international album Ex Libris PassCode in America, Europe, and Canada under the UK’s JPU Records in October 2018. The track “Ichikabachika” from their 2019 album CLARITY was selected as the opening theme for the TV drama Kakegurui season 2 and the movie Kakegurui. In 2020, their single “STARRY SKY,” which was chosen as the theme song for the drama 182 Days Left, earned them their first-ever No. 1 on the Oricon Weekly Single Chart and Billboard JAPAN Weekly Single Chart. They also made their debut appearance on Nippon Broadcasting System’s All Night Nippon 0.
In February 2022, they held their first concert at Nippon Budokan. In 2023, they embarked on their first US tour, “PassCode US / JAPAN TOUR 2023 -GROUNDSWELL-,” which included stops in Dallas, Los Angeles, and New York, as well as 11 cities and 12 venues in Japan.
