Global Citizen, the world’s largest movement to end extreme poverty, today announced additional performers for its first ever music event in Japan, Global Citizen Live: Tokyo. YOSHIKI will join the lineup as a headliner alongside previously announced performers &TEAM, AI, and Yuki Chiba on 18 June 2026 at the Tokyo International Forum. The event will be hosted by Chris Peppler.
“I’m very happy to perform at Global Citizen’s first-ever concert event in Japan,” said YOSHIKI. “Their mission of joining music and philanthropy is something I connect to in a deeply personal way.”
The final batch of tickets to Global Citizen Live: Tokyo will be made available starting Saturday, May 30. Tickets can be purchased from eplus and Lawson Ticket. Proceeds from tickets sold to Global Citizen Live: Tokyo will contribute to the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, an international initiative to raise ¥16 billion to provide at least 100,000 children with access to quality education in over 150 countries, including in Japan, by the 2026 FIFA World Cup. 27 grassroots organizations from 10 countries around the world, including two programs in Japan, have been selected to receive awards ranging from USD $50,000–$250,000 to further their vital work providing access to quality education and sports to children in underserved communities.
Ubuntu FS is a community-driven organization—headquartered in Kitakyushu, Japan—dedicated to fostering inclusive, vibrant, and sustainable local development through the power of sports, culture, and social engagement. The organization leverages sports as a central platform for community building, youth development, and social inclusion. SDGs Promise Japan is a Tokyo-based nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing global sustainable development and reducing poverty in underserved communities, particularly across Africa, by integrating education, economic empowerment, and capacity building into community-based initiatives.
Additionally, a limited number of free tickets to Global Citizen Live: Tokyo can be earned by taking action to end extreme poverty on the Global Citizen app. Nearly five million children die each year before their fifth birthday from preventable diseases, but by engaging on Global Citizen platforms, fans can directly support efforts to improve the health and well-being of women and children in vulnerable communities. YOSHIKI, Japan’s biggest rock star, is a composer, classically-trained pianist, rock drummer, and the leader of the rock groups X Japan and The Last Rockstars.
