The anime series Mysterious Disappearances unveils exciting updates! Introducing new cast members Yorumun Himeuo, voiced by Naomi Ohzora, and The Conductor, voiced by the legendary Masako Nozawa! Additionally, AnimeJapan‘s exclusive talk show event for Mysterious Disappearances is now available to watch on YouTube for a limited time.

On the second day of Anime Japan 2024, March 24th (Sun), a special stage event for the anime Mysterious Disappearances was held. During the talk show including the main cast members and the special guest MC, well-known Mr. Urban Legend Akio Seki, two new cast members were unveiled for characters Yorumun Himeuo (VA: Ohzora Naomi) and The Conductor (VA: Masako Nozawa).

The talk show was held at the KADOKAWA Live Station stage at the KADOKAWA booth (East 6 Hall J-49) and live streamed on the KADOKAWA Anime channel! The VOD will be available to watch on YouTube for free for 1 month from its original streaming date.

About Mysterious Disappearances
The modern-day supernatural horror mystery anime Mysterious Disappearances with a fascinating combination of “supernatural phenomena”, “cute girls” and “fetichism” will begin streaming and broadcasting from April 10th, 2024!
The long-awaited anime adaptation of Nujima’s Mysterious Disappearances (“Kaii to Otome to Kamikakushi”), which was nominated for the ‘Next Coming Manga Award 2020’ (Web Manga Category) and is currently serializing under the “Yawaraka Spirits” label (SHOGAKUKAN). There have been so far 7 volumes released in Japanese and the an English Manga release has been announced for May 2024 by Seven Seas Entertainment.

The talented staff members drag the viewer into a mysterious world of shadows and supernatural occurrences!
In charge of the direction and series composition is Tomomi Mochizuki, who directed Studio Ghibli’s Ocean Waves and ZERO-G’s Battery. In charge of Character Design is Takuya Tani, who also worked on Ms. Koizumi Loves Ramen Noodles and on One Room ‘s Second and Third seasons. Furthermore, the Animation Production was done by animation studio ZERO-G who has also created anime series such as The Ice Guy and His Cool Female Colleague and Science Fell in Love, So I Tried to Prove It. The eminent production team invites you into this dense world of the strange things that lurk in the darkness of modern society and many fascinating characters!

A talented cast of voice actors breathes life into these unique characters!
The main character of the anime, a female author named Sumireko Ogawa, is voiced by Fairouz Ai, also known for voice Joylne Cujoh in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean. Our other protagonist Ren Adashino, a young man who works at the same bookstore as Sumireko, is voiced by Daiki Yamashita, also known for voicing Midoriya Izuhisa in My Hero Academia.In addition, Ren’s younger sister, Oto Asashino, a young girl attending Koone Girls Academy, is voiced by Eri Yukimura, who also voices Keina in In the Land of Leadale and Manami Unami, a teacher at Oto’s school, is voiced by Yui Horie, also known for voicing Tsubasa Hanekawa in the Monogatari series. Other popular and talented voice actors such as Rie Takahashi, Saya Aizawa, Yuuya Uchida, Naomi Ohzora and Masako Nozawa also contribute their talents to the anime!

Story Introduction: 

The “!” sign that should not be seen—
It is the trace of a supernatural occurrence.
Aspiring novelist Sumireko Ogawa works as a book clerk in a certain town and spends her days engaging in futile talk with her colleague, Ren Adashino.
However, Adashino keeps a mysterious secret from Sumireko.
Folktales, ghost stories, urban legends and modern-day mysteries –
some are rooted in truth and actually exist in this world.
One day, triggered by the sudden appearances of a “Reverse Shoplifting Book” in the bookstore, the two of them start encountering a series of mysterious occurrences around the city.
