The larger than life Shohei Ohtani mural was revealed recently to commemorate his opening day playing for the Los Angeles Dodgers! The iconic baseball player is depicted pitching and batting in the legendary Dodgers’ uniform.

Created by artist and Los Angeles native, Robert Vargas, the tribute was painted freehand in 13 days and measures approximately 150 ft x 60 ft long, roughly 13-story tall. A QR code, in partnership with the AR Firm, at the base of the mural leads to a special AR (augmented reality), allowing viewers to see the canvas come to life! Visitors can experience an animated mural of Ohtani swinging and pitching towards the Dodgers Stadium.

The artwork is located in the heart of Little Tokyo, California on the side of the Miyako Hotel Los Angeles.

Next to the Japanese Village Plaza and a short walk to the just-as-popular Arts District, it’s the perfect destination for locals and tourists alike to get in on the Dodgers fever.
