I just stumbled upon an article in the Detroit Free Press about “Beetle Queen Conquers Tokyo“, the movie I’ve written about numerous times on this blog. Director Jessica Oreck’s film explores the role of bugs in Japan, with an emphasis on the “obsession” between the general public and its bug population.

As I’ve said before, the movie looks fascinating, if only for the fact that here in the USA we hardly are attached to bugs in any way, so the concept of this movie looks amazing. I still haven’t seen it yet, but I vow to watch the film soon (and I mean SOON). Then, I’ll give my own two cents here on this blog.

In the meantime, check out the article and if you happen to be in the Detroit area, go see the movie during its two-week run at the Detroit Film Theatre.
