A new attraction “Evangelion Kyoto Base” with the theme of Evangelion will open at Toei Kyoto Studio Park on Saturday, October 3, 2020!

Toei Kyoto Studio Park opened in 1975 as a theme park where you can experience the world of Japanese historical drama. It is the first theme park where you can see the historical drama’s set that was actually used for filming. In such a historical theme park, Evangelion Unit-01 piloted by Shinji Ikari, the main character from the series has appeared!

The upper body part of the 15m tall Evangelion Unit-01 is visible from the LCL pool, that is probably familiar to fans of the series. It has a powerful finish that you will be fascinated by its size and beauty as you look closer. It is a hands-on attraction where you can actually board an entry plug that is inserted into the cockpit.

Entry plug passengers will be inspected from various angles after entering the boarding gate. At the end, the synchronization rate of the pilot will be measured by grasping the control lever. If you get a very high sync rate, you may be adopted by NERV as a new “children”.

You can also take photos in the palm of the Unit-01! The “NERV Photo” in the park offers a service to sell the photos of you taken professionally. Why not leave a valuable photo that can only be taken here as a memory?

Prior to the grand opening, 120 people per day will be able to attend a premium pre-event starting August 1st, 2020 for a limited time. In addition to being able to experience the “Evangelion Kyoto Base” as soon as possible, they will receive an exclusive can badge and boarding memorial photo cards (with your photo) as a present.
