Aoi Eir has announced that she is going on hiatus due to poor health.
On August 18, the singer announced her hiatus through her official website.
“Due to Eir’s recent health condition, it has been decided that all her activities in the near future will be cancelled. She has discussed with us staff and it was determined that she needed to take some time off to rest and recover,” the statement said.
Aoi Eir’s hiatus begins immediately. Her appearance at “AFA 2016” in Thailand on August 19 has been cancelled.
The decision to go on hiatus appears to extend through at least the beginning of 2017. Her appearance at “ANIMAX MUSIX 2017 OSAKA” on January 14, 2017 was among the events cancelled.
“We are very sorry for all the fans that were looking forward to her shows, all of the event-related staffs, and all other appearing artists; but we promise that we will do our best to have Eir recover, so that she can come back as soon as possible,” the statement said.
No details about the nature of Aoi Eir’s ailments have been released.
This is not the first time Aoi Eir has suddenly cancelled her activities due to health concerns. On August 28, 2015, she cancelled her appearance at “Animelo Summer Live 2015 -THE GATE-” at the last minute due to aspiration pneumonia.
