Ikebukuro Halloween Cosplay Festival 2016 was held on October 29 and 30 in Ikebukuro, Tokyo.

The festival included “nico nico cospllection” which is a cosplay performance on a runway and special stage, and other events, such as “nico nico Cosplay Gathering” and “Zebra Cafe.”
Yuriko Koike, Tokyo’s governor, was on stage with the cosplayers at the opening ceremony. A variety of events were held and the festival was full of participants’ excitement.
The cosplayers commented:
“I enjoyed the festival very much, because we could participate in original Halloween costumes, and not just the costumes of anime and game characters.”
“I am very happy to be able to walk through the city, eat out, and shop while wearing a costume.”
“I had fun during the day in Ikebukuro and during the night in Shibuya. I really enjoyed 2 days of Halloween!”
Ikebukuro Halloween Cosplay Festival has been firmly established as a large-scale DWANGO organized event like “nico nico super-conference” and “fighting the meeting.” This is another one of nico nico doga’s events that people can actually participate in. Such events will be increasingly expected in the future.
By the way, Idol Master Cinderella Girls were very popular this year.
