National popular manga, “One Piece” and traditional Japanese entertainment, Kabuki collaborated and on the last day of their kabuki run, they announced that this One Piece kabuki play will hit theaters in Japan in October.
One piece is a manga series by Eiichiro Oda and it is one of the most popular manga which is still on going in Japan today and they have been selling over 320 million copies worldwide in total.
Since the day that they announced that this national icon manga will get a kabuki adaption, it has been a hot topic and it got extremely hard to get tickets.
Super Kabuki is a kabuki performance that combines Japanese traditional aspects with modern theater technology created by Ennosuke Ichikawa. The first Super Kabuki performance made a huge hit and they came back as Super Kabuki II as a collaboration with One Piece.
On this last day of the run, they also had a charity presentation ceremony for the M7 earthquake in Kumamoto which occurred last month.
